To surf the web anonymously, you will need a proxy server.  You might have seen some websites offering software or some kind of program that allows you to surf the internet anonymous, but the sad truth is that if you really want to be anonymous online you need to change your IP.  Only a proxy server allows you to change your IP and this is something software or programs can not do.

If you use a proxy to surf the internet, make sure that it is an anonymous proxy.  The best way to check the level of anonymity a proxy server offers is by checking the IP.  Connect to your proxy, then use one of the many online websites that shows your IP while you are online.  Is your IP the still the same as your home computer's IP?  If so, then the proxy isn't anonymous.
