There are two ways you can anonymous proxy surf the web.  The first is via one of the many web based proxies and the second is with your own proxy server, an elite proxy.  Web based proxies sound good in theory, but in practice they are the poorest kind of proxy server you can use to be anonymous online.  If hiding your IP is important to you, an elite proxy offers the best solution.

Web based proxies are quick and easy to set up and get running.  If you don't want to set one up you can find many websites with free web based proxies to use.  The problem with web based proxies is that they are web based and that means they are limited in the kind of websites you can surf with them and also they usually aren't 100% anonymous.  IPs from web proxies typically can be detected as proxy IPs, this is bad for being anonymous online.

A better solution is with your own proxy server, called an elite proxy.  Elite proxies are 100% anonymous and no-one will be able to tell you changed your IP and are using a proxy server.  When you surf the web with an elite proxy it is just like surfing the web from your home computer.  There is nothing different and you'll probably even forget you are using a proxy to surf the net.

To anonymous proxy surf you could use a web proxy but they are only good for certain websites.  To be 100% anonymous and hide your IP online an elite proxy is the best solution.
